How inventRight coaching helped Suzi Murphy license a laundry product
After exploring inventRight’s free resources, independent inventor Suzi Murphy enrolled in coaching to turn her idea into a licensable product. Working with coach Scott , she learned the fundamentals, strengthened her materials, and used company feedback to refine her approach. Her work culminated in a signed licensing agreement for her laundry product.
This is her story.
“I have always had ideas about how to improve or make things better. I, like many, had no idea what to do with these ideas.
One day, I decided I was going to try to figure out how to bring a product to market. I started researching and came upon inventRight. I couldn’t believe a company was giving away so much free advice. I was so grateful to Stephen and Andrew Krauss for all they do for the inventing community.
I wanted to learn more and I took a chance on their coaching program, the best decision I have ever made.
I was paired with an amazing Coach Scott Putnam. He helped me learn the basics along with moving me into a new phase of advanced product development strategy. It was great to be able to bounce ideas back and forth with a like-minded person. Thank You SCOTT!
I have learned some important key points along the way.
— If you get a NO it is ok to politely ask for feedback, you never know what can come out of it. Asking for feedback led me on paths I could have never imagined. I have met some of the most amazing people that have helped me to grow professionally and personally.
— If you aren’t able to land the product as originally designed, don’t be afraid to take the advice and pivot, this could be the difference between a deal and no deal.
— Be kind, it comes back to you in spades.
Inventing can be a lonely road. Take the time to meet people and create a team, and have fun! For all you product developers out there, this can be you don’t give up! I am thrilled that my laundry product got licensed.
