Chad Brislawn

Driven by curiosity and a lifelong passion for problem-solving, Chad Brislawn enjoys creating and licensing products that make everyday tasks more efficient or fun. He is the founder of Brislawn Investments, a company that designs, develops, and licenses creative product solutions for the construction, camping, and toy and game industries.

As an Associate on the Outreach Team at inventRight Gateway, he helps inventors and entrepreneurs connect with companies to commercialize their ideas and scale their products.

Before committing himself to invention, Chad has spent nearly two decades immersed in the construction industry, gaining hands-on experience in nearly every facet of the trade.

He began his career as a laborer while working toward his commercial driver’s license, which opened doors to operating a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles, from semi and tandem dump trucks to fuel haulers requiring a hazardous materials endorsement. His deep understanding of field operations was further strengthened by years spent running heavy equipment including excavators, front-end loaders, and backhoes on job sites across Iowa.

Transitioning from field work to quality assurance, he spent nearly a decade in the concrete industry, earning multiple Iowa Department of Transportation certifications in Quality Control and Quality Assurance. His expertise in construction standards and attention to detail later led him to join the City of Muscatine’s Public Works Engineering Department, where he attained additional Iowa DOT certifications in Contract Administration, Construction Inspection, and Project Management.

Always looking for innovative new ventures to explore, Chad participates in small-scale investments and passive income projects in addition to inventing. Outside of work, he is a devoted husband and father of two who enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active.
