Reached a Licensing Milestone with inventRight’s Coaching Support
How inventRight coaching helped Carlton stay the course and sign a licensing agreement
After joining inventRight in July 2024, independent inventor Carlton Saunders worked one-on-one with coach Paul Sorenson to learn the licensing process step by step. With Paul’s support, he developed sell sheets, built prototypes, created targeted company contact lists, and kept moving forward through the challenges of outreach. On his birthday, Carlton signed his first licensing agreement, turning persistence, coaching, and hard work into a major milestone.

July 2024, I decided to become an inventRight member, after listening to an audio book, the 4- hour work week. Upon joining, I was assigned a coach. Paul Sorenson became my inventRight coach.
Paul walked me through steps from A to Z on the inventRight process. Paul was a supportive, informative, and an honest mentor. Paul provided insight on developing sell sheets, building prototypes, and creating a targeted company contact lists.
I had my frustrations with the process. Paul calmly discussed his personal experiences going through the steps to get a product licensed. He told me to keep pushing, stay on course.
We tried different ideas and created a format that worked well for me. Forward to April 8th, 2026. On my Birthday, it all came together. I signed my first licensing agreement with a great company.
It was hard work and well worth it. Thank you Paul, Thank you inventRight.”
I’m Carlton, an inventRight member, and I just want to give you a little backstory. I currently own a business, have a couple of patents, and recently, a little less than a year now found out about inventRight. Wish I would’ve known about that over 20 years ago. It would’ve saved me a lot of money, a lot of time and would’ve provided opportunities to communicate with companies that you’re looking forward to get some licensing or some kind of agreement with them with your product.
Let’s talk a little bit about my coach, Paul Sorenson. Paul is a fantastic coach, really supportive, has a lot of knowledge. The inventRight coaches, they’ve all experienced what you’re going to experience when you’re looking for somebody to assist you when it comes to working with and getting either some licensing agreement or really starting from the scratch of your concept. Getting IP and then getting the steps to contact strong opportunities to work with some manufacturers out there, or people that can do some licensing or whatever you’re looking for in regards to that.
So Paul’s been supportive. He’s worked very hard with me staying in touch, providing me some insights, talking about his personal experiences in the process and I’m using those to get myself in a position to get opportunities.
Just a quick story. I’ve been working really hard. I’ve been getting a lot of nos. Again, Paul’s been very supportive in regards to saying, ‘Hey, keep your chin up. Let’s try this. Let’s try some other things.’
Right now, I’m working with a company that is the best opportunity I’ve had so far to date. Things are looking great. Actually, I have a phone call with them scheduled here to discuss more about the opportunities to license my product.
So if you’re really looking to get a lot of knowledge, a lot of support, contact inventRight, they’ll get you connected with coaches like Paul and they will support you from A to Z in getting your product the opportunity to get licensed.
