How expert invention licensing coaching helped Joey bounce back from a lost deal to license his idea
Independent inventor Joey Groves spent about two and a half years pushing through a mountain of no’s. After an early agreement fell through, he stayed with the inventRight community and worked closely with coach Paul Sorenson, regrouping and keeping outreach alive. The persistence paid off — he secured a licensing agreement and celebrated his first royalty check, a reminder that companies still need fresh ideas even in uncertain times.

I started my licensing journey about 2.5 years ago. After a mountain of no’s, I finally landed a deal with a good-size company only to have the rug jerked out from under me a couple of months later. Talk about having the wind knocked out of your sails.
I was almost out of gas, and then it happened. I signed another deal, and now I am sitting here with my first royalty check!
In retrospect, there are a lot of things I could’ve done a little differently, but something I wouldn’t change is being a part of the iR community.
I’m not sure who really needs to hear me ramble, but if I can help lift one person’s chin up and help them dig a little bit deeper to get that deal, then I have done what I felt like I needed to do. God bless….”
