How inventRight coaching helped Terry pivot from venturing to licensing and land multiple deals
Independent inventor Terry Varney first set out to venture his outdoor recreation idea, but the solo path proved overwhelming. After joining inventRight and working one-on-one with coach Paul Sorenson, he reset his approach, refined his outreach, and moved quickly. Within eight months he signed a licensing deal in the home improvement category and secured a second agreement in surf gear, with his patent subsequently published.
“A couple years ago, I filed for a utility patent on an outdoor recreation product. My plan was to acquire a business loan, build a business around it and market my product across different states. This, I found, was overwhelming for a one-man team given a niche product as well as trying to run my current e-commerce business.
Deciding to join the inventRight boot camp was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
