inventRight has a team of expert coaches, one of whom will work individually with you for the first 6 six months of your membership. You get weekly calls with your coach and you have unlimited email support from both your coach and our customer care team. All of our coaches have been through our 10-step system and have different areas of expertise.

We work hard to match you with a coach that best aligns with you and your invention idea, and if at any point in the process you feel it’s not a right fit, you can request a transfer to a different coach. At inventRight, your success is our success, so building a program that works for you is what’s most important to us!

During your second six months of membership, you will have ongoing access to a Senior inventRight Coach weekly via office hours. You can attend as often as you wish or not at all based on what questions you have or advice that you need. Bottom line? We are always there for you.

Protection

Protection is the most important concern for every inventor, and inventRight has you covered. We have a patent application software, SmartIP, developed by acclaimed Patent Attorney and Professor Gene Quinn. SmartIP makes it easy to quickly create a strong, valuable provisional patent application that will provide you with patent pending status for one year. Your coach will guide you through the process of utilizing SmartIP.

Your coach will also teach you how to perform a worldwide patent search that might find any prior art indicating you need to revise your invention or come up with a different protection strategy.

Marketing

How you talk about your product is important – people need to quickly and easily understand what your product is, its benefit, and why they should be interested in it. Your coach will teach you how to write a one sentence benefit statement that does exactly that. Your coach will also help you create the best way to pitch your product so that it will be attractive to potential licensees. With the guidance of your inventRight coach you will come across to your potential licensee as a professional!

Sales

How do you pitch your idea to a company? What do you say? Who do you talk to? Your membership provides access to SmartPitch in addition to your regular coaching sessions.

SmartPitch meetings will teach you the best ways to find the right companies to pitch to, how to present yourself, and how to pitch your product. These twice-monthly meetings are open to other members as well and most members find that they learn from their peers’ questions and experiences in addition to their coach’s. With SmartPitch, you’ll master presenting yourself and pitching on LinkedIn, elsewhere online, and on the phone as well. Your coach will help you practice and when the times comes, you will be ready!

Access

We provide multiple programs that give you direct access to companies looking for ideas. One is inventRight Connect, a database of thousands of companies looking for ideas.

Your coach will help you work with inventRight Connect to create a list of companies that are the best bet for licensing your idea – so you don’t waste any time or money! You will submit your idea to the companies most likely to be interested in it.

Connection

Another program that gives you direct access to companies looking for ideas is Bridging the Gap. In these scheduled webinars, which are recorded so you have access at any time, you and other members will meet directly with decision makers at open innovation companies. These key people may be CEO’s, executives, or persons responsible for finding new ideas for their company.

They will tell you, in their own words, the types of ideas they’re looking for and how to best present yourself to their company. In addition, they will also let you know what NOT to do. Your coach will work with you to take this information and format your marketing materials and pitch to provide exactly what the company is looking for!

Negotiations

inventRight has a dedicated Negotiations Expert who has guided hundreds of members through their licensing agreement negotiations. If you get interest from a company, our Negotiations Expert will immediately join your team and work alongside you and your coach to ensure you get the best possible deal.

While your Negotiations Expert won’t do the negotiating for you, they will give you the advice to will make sure you’re doing everything right at every step. They will answer all your questions, guide you on what to say and how to present yourself, and give you professional input, based on experience, on when it’s time to accept or reject a deal.

Design Studio

Your coach will help you direct our designers to get the exact look and feel of your product and create professional marketing material to pitch your product. When you add inventRight Design Studio to your membership, our team of professional designers will create one 3D Virtual Prototype and Sell Sheet for you.

You will learn the necessary steps to take a product idea and bring it to market through licensing. And your coach will be with you through each step.

Picking the right product to license. Along with your coach, you will determine whether or not you should pursue any product idea you’re considering commercializing. This can save you a considerable amount of time and money. This will also increase your chance of licensing success.

3. PROTECTING YOUR IDEA

With your coach you will learn “when” and “how” to protect your product ideas with the tools that are provided at the USPTO. It’s extremely important to do this correctly given the cost and expense associated with protecting your intellectual property. Along with your coach you will learn what’s necessary to file a provisional patent application that truly has value. Filing a PPA correctly will protect you and save you money at the same time.

4. MARKETING YOUR IDEA

Your coach will create the right marketing material for the potential licensee to understand the “benefits” of your product idea quickly and concisely.

7. PITCHING YOUR PRODUCT IDEA

inventRight has specialized training designed to help you pitch your product idea the right way. By combining an online course with group meetings that include profile critiques, connection building exercises, and script reviews – our Smart Pitch program helps members grow an online professional presence as a product developer while staying current, active, and accountable in pitching product ideas to open innovation companies.

8. WORKING WITH YOUR LICENSEE

You will learn how to leverage a licensing deal using a provisional patent application (PPA). We’ll give you the tools to file one without the need for an attorney. If you already have a patent, fantastic — we’ll show you how to negotiate with it. If you are currently selling your product independently, we will show you how to convert that interest from the marketplace into interest from a large company.

You will also learn ways to improve your public relations skills so you can help your licensee sell more product by getting national exposure for your invention.

9. NEGOTIATING YOUR LICENSING AGREEMENT

When you receive your licensing agreement your coach will hand you off to our chief negotiator to work behind the scenes to make sure you’re receiving the highest possible royalty rate with minimum guarantees. During this process you will learn all the basics of licensing agreements.

10. COACHING DURING YOUR MEMBERSHIP

Your personal coach will help you learn these skills during your membership. They will be there every step along the way to make sure you’re making good decisions. Not only will you learn the process of product licensing, you’ll be held accountable and supported in taking the right actions to commercialize your creativity.

You will utilize the skills you learn over and over again when determining which product ideas to license and negotiating licensing agreements with potential licensees.

Meeting the Decision Makers

Building your own relationships with decision makers is critical. Each month through inventRight’s Bridging the Gap meetings we bring on representatives from two companies to allow you to meet face-to-face with the employees and executives you’ll be pitching your product to.
