When I received a call from a vice-president at publisher McGraw-Hill’s San Francisco office, I was a little surprised that they wanted me to write a book.
What did I know about writing a book? Absolutely nothing.
But I had a very good friend who was once a student that I reached out to for advice.
His name was Tim Ferriss and he had become quite famous with his first book, The 4-Hour Work Week.
He was in Argentina when he wrote this book, and sent me his first manuscript to read.
Soon, the book came out with a different cover and became a #1 worldwide smash hit!
I even gave Tim a testimonial.
I was honored when Tim signed a book and sent it to me.
Tim’s advice to me was: If you’re going to write a book, write it like it’s your last. Go all in and share everything you know!
My first book One Simple Idea has been out now for over a decade, and Tim was absolutely right. The reason it keeps selling and is still relevant to readers is because I gave it all away.
