Should Inventors Fear Artificial Intelligence? No!

Artificial intelligence – AI – is certainly the “buzzword” of today. Many people see AI as the “enemy” as it will replace their jobs. It may, it may not.
The real question to us inventors is, “How will it affect us?”
The way I see it is, us inventors and creators will be in even greater demand.
To be honest, I love artificial intelligence and how it is helping me. The research it can do, how it can rewrite the framework of some of my sales letters, and invent programs, is truly amazing. But notice I said rewrite.
Artificial Intelligence Needs Us To Create First, So It Can Respond
I still have to create something for artificial intelligence to respond to. AI responds to creativity, something which seems to be taught out of kids… but that’s an entirely different subject, so although I’d love to, I won’t go on here!
Thriving In A Progressively AI-Dominated World
AI can enhance our creativity because it has almost instantaneous access to a vast amount of knowledge we don’t, but that’s exactly my point: AI enhances our creativity, it’s not the source of our creativity, and there is a big difference, a huge difference in fact.
The companies that will be ahead of the curve in fully utilizing AI will be companies who realize this, and how valuable creativity and inventiveness are to their business surviving and thriving in a progressively AI-dominated world.
As people start to realize this, they will realize that to survive and thrive in today’s environment, being creative is a necessary skill. Those who teach creativity and those who are already creative, like us inventors, are ahead of the curve, we will start to be in more demand.
Keeping Ahead Of The AI Growth Curve
To be honest, if I were a company owner or CEO, I’d say to businesses like inventRight, who have established a large community of creative people, “How can we begin to work together?”
In my lifetime, I’ve seen the introduction of the information age, where information went from being scarce and costly to becoming easily and readily available for the first time in modern history. As information became readily available and affordable to most people through the introduction of the Internet, the ability to apply information became important. Information is simply information, when it’s applied to something, then it becomes useful, I.E., we do something with it.
Combining Inventing And Original Thought With Artificial Intelligence
We have to direct the information to apply it, and that takes original thought. Original thought, what’s that? That’s creativity, and that’s what us inventors do! We have a creative idea, gather information, then apply the information to turn our original thought into reality.
I’m not so sure artificial intelligence will be able to do those 3 steps, but I do know AI can certainly be a highly valuable tool to help us inventors take them.
Inventors Will Rise To The Top
That’s why I believe inventors, creators, people, and companies who educate and assist creatives, like inventRight, will be in great demand, but it just might take people a little time to realize it!
When I was born, inventors in Australia were very few, and we were the “Crazy Ones.”
Now, we are more accepted into society. According to the IDiyas platform, there are more than 30,000 inventors with U.S. utility patents from Australia!
I may just live long enough to see the full circle, where we are not only accepted in society, but actually respected and valued for our creative abilities and possibly even sought after!
With Gratitude,
Warren

About the contributor
Warren WilsonI’m an inventor who’s had my successes and fair share on “non-successes.” What I love doing is helping other inventors be successful by sharing my real world inventing experiences with them. Starting my inventing adventures in Australia I know what it like to be an inventor with no one to turn to for advice when the road gets tough. My aim is to be that person they can turn to.
